Upstream Processing Scientist - I (Assistant)

JSG is seeking an Upstream Processing Scientist for our client in West Point PA
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Upstream Processing Scientist - I (Assistant) to support innovative laboratory operations in a dynamic biotech environment. In this role, you'll contribute to the development of life-saving vaccines by performing essential upstream bioprocessing tasks, working alongside a talented team dedicated to scientific excellence.

Pay $36.78/hour

What You'll Bring:

• B.S. in Biology, Bio/chemistry, Bio/chemical Engineering, or a related field
• At least six months of hands-on laboratory experience in upstream bioprocessing, including bioreactor operations, microbial and mammalian cell culture
• Skills in aseptic techniques, pipetting, and solution preparation
• Experience with culturing cells, performing basic cell-based assays, and using spreadsheets in Excel
• Proficiency in operating bioreactors and conducting in-process monitoring
• Strong computer literacy and quick adaptability to new software
• Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Basic knowledge of downstream processes such as lysis, centrifugation, and filtration

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to support onsite work, with occasional off-hours or weekend shifts (not typically exceeding 40 hours per week)
• Capable of maintaining accurate records following good laboratory practices (GLP)
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills
