Upper East Side Part-Time Housekeeper

Private family on Manhattan’s Upper East Side seeks an experienced and polished Part-Time Housekeeper to provide full-charge care of their residence. The family is seeking someone warm, personable, and discreet who will bring consistency, sound judgment, and a genuine long-term commitment to the household.

The Housekeeper will independently manage the day-to-day care of the residence, including detailed cleaning, laundry and wardrobe care, household organization, errands, and maintaining supplies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and observant, with the ability to anticipate household needs, take initiative, and manage responsibilities efficiently with minimal direction.

This is a part-time position consisting of approximately 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility surrounding the specific days and hours. The family is primarily focused on finding the right individual who can consistently maintain the home to a high standard rather than adhering to a rigid schedule. For the right candidate, there is potential for the position to develop into a full-time role as the family’s household needs evolve.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform all aspects of full-charge housekeeping, including routine and detailed cleaning, to maintain the residence to consistently high standards
• Manage household laundry and wardrobe care, including washing, ironing, steaming, and the appropriate care of fine and specialty garments
• Coordinate dry cleaning and specialty garment care, including couture and other delicate items
• Maintain closets, storage areas, household belongings, and living spaces in an organized and thoughtful manner
• Monitor and maintain household supplies, anticipating needs and replenishing items as necessary
• Run household errands, including dry cleaning and other requested tasks
• Proactively identify household needs and take ownership of maintaining an orderly, well-functioning residence
• Additional Housekeeper responsibilities as needed and requested

Requirements:

• Strong command of the English language with excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent references from both current and previous employers required
• Professional housekeeping experience within private residences required, with strong knowledge of detailed cleaning, laundry, wardrobe care, and household organization
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for the family’s privacy
• Highly organized, proactive, and self-directed with the ability to anticipate household needs and manage responsibilities independently
• Comfortable working within an active family home
• Flexible and responsive with a genuine interest in a long-term position
• Able to legally work within the United States for any employer

Compensation: $45 per hour

Compensation is dependent upon experience, references, and the results of reference checks and background check
