JOB TITLE: Upholstery Shop Technician
LOCATION:Marysville, WA
PAY RATE: $28.00/hour

Summary: 

  • Performs component preparation, covering, and assembly in accordance with current technical data, manufacturers' instructions, government and industry standard practices, and FAA approved data.

  • Prepares decorative coverings including fabric, leather, and Tedlar for aircraft interior components.

  • Performs installations and modifications on and off wing for aircraft interiors.

  • Interprets material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure upholstered components meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.

  • Selects and uses proper tools for job tasks including upholstery and assembly tools.

  • Ensures work orders and forms used for traceability are properly executed.

  • Prepares all parts for finish and applies final finish of aircraft interior components per engineering and quality standards.

  • Performs interior modifications, installations, or maintenance tasks as assigned.

  • Maintains shop equipment and tools in good working order.

  • Practices safety guidelines including Hazardous Materials handling.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Three years of upholstery experience, preferably in the corporate aviation completion environment or other high-end industries such as yachts or luxury motor coaches.

  • Experience in preparation of decorative coverings including fabric, leather, and Tedlar.

  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).

  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.

  • Exhibits hand-eye coordination skills for upholstery and assembly tasks.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Ability to reach overhead and work in stooping, kneeling, or standing positions.

  • Ability to climb and work on step stools or ladders.
