    What We're Looking For

    We are seeking a UNIX / Linux Systems Administrator to support the day-to-day administration, availability, security, and reliability of enterprise infrastructure. This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on Linux or UNIX experience who wants to continue developing their skills in a production environment.

    You will support user and access administration, system monitoring, backup and recovery activities, server provisioning, operating system patching, and infrastructure troubleshooting. You will also work alongside senior infrastructure professionals on system upgrades, disaster recovery initiatives, and other technology projects.

    What You'll Do

    • Provision, configure, maintain, and patch Red Hat Linux and UNIX-based servers in virtualized environments such as VMware.
    • Administer system access, including creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts, managing security groups, and supporting password resets.
    • Use enterprise backup and recovery platforms to monitor scheduled backups, troubleshoot failures, and perform data or file restores when needed.
    • Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity, including disk utilization, memory, CPU, system availability, and other key operating metrics.
    • Investigate system alerts and operational issues, escalating complex problems to senior infrastructure team members when appropriate.
    • Support routine operating system maintenance, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
    • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing, including validation of systems and recovery procedures.
    • Assist operations and engineering teams with troubleshooting and recovery from server, operating system, and application infrastructure issues.
    • Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and configuration information.
    • Contribute to infrastructure projects involving virtualization, server modernization, security, automation, and platform improvements.

    What You Need

    • 3+ years of experience in information technology, or at least 1 year of hands-on UNIX/Linux systems administration experience.
    • Familiarity with Linux or UNIX operating systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or AIX.
    • Experience working with virtualization platforms such as VMware.
    • Exposure to enterprise backup, monitoring, security, or systems management tools.
    • Understanding of user administration, permissions, system monitoring, patching, and basic troubleshooting.
    • Middleware experience is a plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
    • Comfortable working with common productivity and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office and Teams.

    Compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, technical skills, education, and geographic market.
