Job Title: Unix Engineer (SME)

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Unix Engineer (SME) to manage vulnerability assessment, patching governance, and secure operations across large-scale enterprise environments. The role will support multiple product portfolios while ensuring compliance, stability, and adherence to defined patching cadence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and remediate OS and third-party vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to enterprise patching schedules.
- Provide BAU support for 50+ enterprise products as a product owner, ensuring operational stability.
- Manage infrastructure comprising 150+ VMs and 60+ lower environments, supporting CLS and ongoing project initiatives.
- Drive end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle management (identification, prioritization, remediation, reporting).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects while maintaining BAU efficiency and compliance.
Key Skills (SME Level):
- Expert-level experience in Unix/Linux administration with strong focus on vulnerability management and patching strategies.
- Proven experience handling large-scale, multi-environment infrastructure with security and compliance alignment.
- Ability to lead remediation efforts, optimize patch cycles, and drive governance across multiple product lines.
Tools & Technologies:
- Operating Systems: RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux (any enterprise Unix/Linux variants)
- Vulnerability Tools: Qualys / Rapid7 / Tenable / Nessus
- Automation: Ansible / Shell Scripting (mandatory), Python (good to have)
- Monitoring & ITSM: Splunk / Dynatrace / Nagios / SolarWinds, ServiceNow
- Patch Management: Satellite Server, WSUS (or equivalent enterprise patch tools)
- Cloud Exposure (Preferred): AWS / Azure Linux environment management
Certifications (Preferred):
- RHCSA / RHCE (Mandatory or strongly preferred)
- Linux Foundation (LFCS/LFCE) – Preferred
- Security Certifications (Preferred): CEH / CompTIA Security+
- ITIL v4 Foundation – Preferred
