Job Title: Unix Engineer (SME)

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Unix Engineer (SME) to manage vulnerability assessment, patching governance, and secure operations across large-scale enterprise environments. The role will support multiple product portfolios while ensuring compliance, stability, and adherence to defined patching cadence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and remediate OS and third-party vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to enterprise patching schedules.
  • Provide BAU support for 50+ enterprise products as a product owner, ensuring operational stability.
  • Manage infrastructure comprising 150+ VMs and 60+ lower environments, supporting CLS and ongoing project initiatives.
  • Drive end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle management (identification, prioritization, remediation, reporting).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects while maintaining BAU efficiency and compliance.

Key Skills (SME Level):
  • Expert-level experience in Unix/Linux administration with strong focus on vulnerability management and patching strategies.
  • Proven experience handling large-scale, multi-environment infrastructure with security and compliance alignment.
  • Ability to lead remediation efforts, optimize patch cycles, and drive governance across multiple product lines.

Tools & Technologies:
  • Operating Systems: RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux (any enterprise Unix/Linux variants)
  • Vulnerability Tools: Qualys / Rapid7 / Tenable / Nessus
  • Automation: Ansible / Shell Scripting (mandatory), Python (good to have)
  • Monitoring & ITSM: Splunk / Dynatrace / Nagios / SolarWinds, ServiceNow
  • Patch Management: Satellite Server, WSUS (or equivalent enterprise patch tools)
  • Cloud Exposure (Preferred): AWS / Azure Linux environment management

Certifications (Preferred):
  • RHCSA / RHCE (Mandatory or strongly preferred)
  • Linux Foundation (LFCS/LFCE) – Preferred
  • Security Certifications (Preferred): CEH / CompTIA Security+
  • ITIL v4 Foundation – Preferred
