Are you passionate about event planning and training? Join our team as a University Events and Assessment Training Specialist! In this dynamic role, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing our university's event management capabilities. You'll design and deliver training programs, coordinate major events, and assess their impact-all while ensuring alignment with our institution's strategic goals, thereby contributing significantly to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training & Development: Create and deliver training programs, workshops, and resources for faculty, staff, and student organizations.
  • Event Planning & Coordination: Help organize university events, manage logistics, and collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Develop tools to evaluate event success and provide actionable insights for improvement.
  • Marketing & Communication: Promote events through strategic marketing and manage attendee communications.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain records, track budgets, and support policy development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning, training, or related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in event management software.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

University Events is to manage, coordinate, and facilitate annual plans for signature and marque events in the life of Winston-Salem State University. The primary function is to support events that include university-constituent relations on behalf of the Chancellor, as well as senior administration. When necessary, may also oversee interdepartmental coordination to organize and streamline the approach to university-wide events

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning, training and development, or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and train diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using event management software, assessment tools, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
