The Unit Secretary assists with the day-to-day operation of various clinical areas of the Hospital. The incumbent retrieves/orders data from computer system, maintains patient charts and records, and processes forms and paperwork for unit. Facilitates the flow of information between physicians, nursing staff and others concerning patient care, and performs other job-related duties as requested.
Duties & Responsibilities:Retrieves/orders data from computer system, such as test results and care maps to assist nursing staff and physicians.
Processes forms and paperwork necessary for unit functions.
Verifies and updates patient data.
Maintains manual patient medical records and files.
Maintains a neat, well supplied workstation.
Provides routine secretarial support to unit.
Preserves and protects patient's rights to confidentiality.
Performs other job-related duties as requested.
High school graduate with some additional, specialized training preferred. Well organized individual with excellent communication skills. Proficiency in the English language required.
