    Unit Secretary- 2 East | Med/Surg, Women & Pediatrics

    Part Time | 48 hrs. Biweekly

    6:30am- 7:00p | Rotating Weekends

    2 East is a fast-paced, 26-bed Medical/Surgical, Women and Pediatric unit providing comprehensive, high-quality, and evidence-based care to a diverse patient population. We care for adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions involving the respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, renal, and endocrine systems, as well as those undergoing surgical procedures, including both pre- and post-operative care. The unit has telemetry capability and is proudly recognized as a Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate, organize, and prioritize unit activities to support patient safety and throughput
    • Handle multiple simultaneous tasks and requests in a high-stress clinical setting
    • Support the healthcare team by managing communications, documentation, and procedural coordination
    • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the medical record from admission through discharge
    • Accurately enter and verify physician orders in the electronic health record (EHR) system (inpatient setting)
    • Interact professionally with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff-often exceeding 100 unique interactions daily

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Completion of an accredited business or medical assistant course, or equivalent experience required

    Experience

    • Familiarity with medical terminology, clerical-level typing, and Windows-based applications preferred
