Payroll Specialist

Location: Lake Oswego, OR

Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Compensation: $65,000-$78,000 annually

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their growing payroll team. This role will be responsible for processing high-volume, multi-state payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional support for employees. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and takes pride in delivering accurate payroll services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 1,300 employees across multiple states.

  • Audit and verify payroll data, timekeeping records, and employee information for accuracy.

  • Support payroll operations involving multiple collective bargaining agreements and union payroll requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll inquiries.

  • Generate payroll reports and assist with payroll audits and compliance reporting.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information.

  • Partner with payroll leadership to meet weekly deadlines and support continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.

  • Experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience processing union payroll.

  • Experience working with Dayforce or similar payroll systems.

  • 5+ years of payroll or related accounting experience.
