    Responsibilities:

    The Underwriting Support Technician (UST) serves as a critical operational partner to the underwriting organization, supporting the intake, coordination, processing, and servicing of underwriting activities across the policy lifecycle. The UST is responsible for ensuring submissions, renewals, inspections, audits, notices, and service requests are accurately reviewed, routed, processed, and/or documented in accordance with established procedures and service standards.

     

    Working closely with Underwriters, Underwriting Assistants, brokers, vendors, and internal business partners, the UST helps maintain workflow efficiency, operational accuracy, compliance, and responsive customer service. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

     

    • Review, triage, route, and process requests received through designated service channels, ensuring timely assignment, escalation, resolution, and adherence to established service standards and procedures.
    • Review and process incoming underwriting submissions, validating documentation and information for completeness, accurately entering data into company systems, and ensuring timely workflow assignment and follow-up to support underwriting readiness.
    • Establish and maintain renewal setup workflows across applicable product lines, ensuring timely and accurate setup.
    • Process legal, compliance, and policy-servicing notices in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and service standards.
    • Coordinate inspection and premium audit activities, including ordering, scheduling, follow-up, documentation, and communication with vendors and Underwriting Assistants.
    • Monitor workflows, queues, and assigned work to support timely processing, operational efficiency, and service-level expectations.
    • Partner with Underwriters, Underwriting Assistants, brokers, vendors, and internal business partners to provide timely, professional, and solution-oriented service while supporting operational needs and efficient workflow execution.
    • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and system notes in accordance with company standards and quality expectations.
    • Identify processing discrepancies, workflow concerns, service issues, or operational bottlenecks and escalate appropriately.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, service delivery, and operational effectiveness.
    • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Prior experience in an administrative support or office environment is preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with brokers, vendors, Underwriters, and other internal business partners.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and follow established procedures.
    • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies, resolve routine operational issues, and learn new processes, systems, and technologies.
    • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality support.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • This is an in-office, in-person position.
