Underwriter I -Personal Lines

Tower Hill Insurance, Florida's largest Homeowners insurer, is currently seeking an Account Underwriter for their Personal Lines Underwriting team. The Account Underwriter  is the key position for communication and relationships with agencies.

Looking for an individual with strong communication, time management, and decision making skills. To be considered, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience. Willing to consider new college graduates or experienced individuals. Insurance company experience, agency experience, insurance licenses or designations are a plus. Position offers excellent opportunity for growth. Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Communicates daily with agents via telephone and email to assist in risk placement and rating, to obtain information, and answer agent inquiries.

• Corresponds with field reps and other insurance or inspection companies to obtain information, answer inquiries, or explain company underwriting policies.

• Accepts or rejects applications based on underwriting guidelines.

• Reviews insurance applications and endorsements to evaluate, classify, and rate Personal Lines policies of insurance.

• Examines applications, inspection reports, insurance maps, and credit reports to determine risk and appropriate rate.

• Travels periodically to assigned field.

• Additional duties as assigned.
