    What You'll Do:
    • Underwrite direct and indirect consumer loan applications according to established lending policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements
    • Analyze credit reports, income, debt-to-income ratios, collateral values, and other financial information to determine creditworthiness and loan eligibility
    • Approve, decline, or condition consumer loan applications within assigned lending authority
    • Review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before finalizing decisions
    • Clearly document underwriting decisions and maintain accurate electronic loan records
    • Prepare and maintain required compliance documentation for approved and declined applications
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen borrower relationships through additional lending products and services
    • Partner with loan officers, branch employees, sales leadership, and other lending professionals to support timely processing and outstanding service
    • Safeguard confidential financial information and maintain the integrity of lending records
    • Stay current on consumer lending regulations, underwriting standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
    • Maintain knowledge of applicable requirements, including BSA, AML, OFAC, CIP, and CDD, and complete required compliance training
    • Take on additional responsibilities as business and lending needs evolve


    What We’re Looking For:
    • 2–5 years of experience underwriting consumer loans
    • High school diploma, GED, or higher education required
    • Strong understanding of consumer credit analysis and the ability to make well-reasoned lending decisions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, service-focused approach
    • Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with lending teams, coworkers, business partners, and borrowers
    • High level of discretion when working with confidential financial and personal information
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with the ability to quickly learn loan origination systems and other business applications
    • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and basic accounting principles
    • Accurate keyboarding, data-entry, and documentation skills with close attention to detail
    • Professionalism, initiative, accountability, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering excellent service
    • Ability to perform standard office activities, maintain close visual attention to documents and computer screens, and occasionally lift office materials weighing up to 20 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals
