Job Summary

This is a student position for the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, located in Felmley Hall.

As an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:

  • Attending each lecture.
  • Taking attendance.
  • Maintaining student records.
  • Familiarity with the class material.
  • Holding office hours and student review sessions.
  • Teaching small groups or individuals who need additional help or guidance.
  • Proctoring exams.
  • Grading tests, papers, and assignments.
  • Recording and maintaining grades.
  • Lecturing or making presentations.
  • Leading class discussion or break-out groups.
  • Supervising group activities.

Students currently taking the class are not eligible for this position.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour

It is strongly preferred that candidates have satisfactorily completed the class that they will be supporting.

Work Hours

Work hours will be determined by the faculty member and the class time.

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and if applicable, an employment history review, based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation and/or an employment history review.
