Undergraduate Assistants (UAs) are KPC students who work hand-in-hand with faculty to enhance the educational environment and also develop their own professional skills.
Examples of how UAs accomplish this could include:
Being embedded in a specific course to help fellow students succeed by working one-on-one with students or groups, holding exam study sessions, etc.
Being embedded in a specific course to facilitate conversations, discussions, and in-class activities
Providing support on a specific academic project being led by a faculty
UAs work closely with their Lead Faculty (the faculty member teaching the course the UA is assigned to) and attend onboarding and training. Available courses change every semester.
A successful candidate for this position is reliable, dependable, and committed, with the ability to consistently attend and actively participate in all scheduled shifts, meetings, and trainings. They communicate effectively and work collaboratively with students, peers, staff, and faculty. They demonstrate a growth mindset by being open to learning and both giving and receiving feedback. You will also perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty that support your specific role in the course or project.
