Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems is hiring student interns to assist with off-campus stormwater monitoring, field testing, and laboratory testing and analysis. The position supports ongoing stormwater management research as part of PennDOTs I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange Reconstruction Project.

The student intern would complete lab and/or field work to support stormwater sampling and flow and soil measurements.

Laboratory work includes:

• Soil classification testing
• Data management and analysis
• Maintaining a safe and clean lab
• Preparing samples and equipment

Field work may include:

• Assisting graduate students with maintaining field sites
• Collecting samples
• Installing/maintaining equipment
• Infiltration testing

Requirements

• Attention to detail
• Able to follow directions
• Science or engineering major preferred
• Previous lab experience a plus
• Critical thinking skills in order to work safely in the lab and field

Additional InformationPhysical Demands Summary

• Must be willing to complete repetitive tasks in the lab and/or field and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in uncomfortable field conditions such as extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or rain.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Wage Rate

• $15/hr.
