    Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
    Location: White Plains, New York
    Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Days Vary | 8:00 AM–8:30 PM
    Hours: 75 hours per pay period
    Pay Range: $52.04–$62.88 per hour

    Job Overview

    A leading healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join its Diagnostic Imaging team.

    The Ultrasound Technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, prepare and position patients, assist physicians during procedures, and ensure examinations are completed according to established imaging protocols and safety standards.

    This position requires an ARDMS-registered sonographer with strong patient-care skills, sound clinical judgment, and the flexibility to support changing department needs.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols
    • Prepare and position patients appropriately for each examination
    • Review physician orders, patient history, and required documentation before performing studies
    • Produce high-quality diagnostic images and verify completeness before submitting examinations for interpretation
    • Assist physicians and radiologists during procedures as needed
    • Educate patients and family members regarding the ordered examination
    • Provide age-appropriate care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
    • Present completed images to radiologists and communicate urgent findings as directed
    • Document communications with physicians when necessary
    • Perform equipment quality assurance and calibration procedures
    • Maintain ultrasound equipment, rooms, and accessories in clean and safe condition
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department or supervisor
    • Maintain adequate department supplies and assist with ordering as needed
    • Review previous imaging studies and reports when appropriate
    • Maintain accurate documentation within hospital imaging and electronic systems
    • Process imaging CDs or printed images when requested
    • Coordinate patient transportation to and from clinical units
    • Provide professional and courteous service to patients, families, and clinical staff
    • Serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned
    • Support emergency procedures and additional department coverage when needed
    • Participate in on-call, holiday, overtime, evening, or overnight coverage based on department needs
    • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of an accredited or certified Ultrasound program
    • Current ARDMS registration upon hire
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire
    • Strong ultrasound imaging and patient-positioning skills
    • Ability to produce diagnostic-quality images consistently
    • Strong patient assessment and communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
    • Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to remain composed in stressful or rapidly changing situations
    • Ability to move and position patients safely for examinations
    • Ability to operate ultrasound, computer, PACS, and related imaging systems
    • Flexibility to work varying schedules and additional coverage when necessary

    Preferred

    • One to three years of Ultrasound Technologist experience
    • Previous hospital-based sonography experience
    • Experience assisting with ultrasound-guided procedures
    • Experience working with patients across the lifespan
    • Previous preceptor or clinical training experience
