    Description

    Cottage Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team. This position offers scheduling flexibility while providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through high-quality diagnostic imaging and compassionate patient care in a collaborative hospital environment.

    Position Summary

    The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist, producing high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols.
    • Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
    • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images with accurate measurements and annotations for radiologist interpretation.
    • Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate.
    • Maintain and disinfect ultrasound equipment according to hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
    • Accurately document examinations within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
    • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to provide efficient, coordinated patient care.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital, regulatory, and safety standards.
    • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
    • Current ARDMS certification (or registry eligible, if applicable).
    • Current BLS certification required.
    • Previous hospital ultrasound experience preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
