    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree in an accredited program in ultrasonography
    • Registered or registry eligible RDMS required
    • Registry or registry eligible in specialty fields of OB/GYN and Abdomen
    • Must be competent in a wide variety of ultrasound examinations including Vascular and be able to assist Radiologists in invasive ultrasound procedures

    Responsibilities

    • Exhibits patience and empathy in working with patients, explains procedures to put patient "at ease", recognizes and meets patient needs, aids the patient into position through proper communication
    • Applies knowledge to clinical setting, transfers knowledge from one area to another, appropriately identifies the patient, properly assesses the requisition, prepares room prior to exam, anticipates "next step" follows through to end of exam (i.e. completes paperwork)
    • Performs high quality ultrasound exams according to training and competency level in the areas of ultrasound
    • Maintains ultrasound equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regular, scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions
    • Maintains supplies in the room
    • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas
    • Recognizes job relationships and functions effectively within the organizational structure
    • Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and other means to keep abreast of latest trends in the ultrasound field
    • Establishes a good rapport with the Radiologists and other physicians. Demonstrates respect and promotes a harmonious working atmosphere and is responsive to physician and patient needs
    • Fosters good relationships/partnerships between hospital departments to assure patient satisfaction over their continuum of care
    • Perform other duties as required or assigned
