Anatomy, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR Certification, Documentation, OBGYN Examinations, Patient Care, Ultrasound
Performs ultrasound studies in a clinical environment, including abdominal, vaginal, and OBGYN exams.
- Have clear understanding of image formation and display.
- Have a clear understanding of fetal growth and development, as well as the basics of pelvic anatomy.
- Demonstrate skills and ability to locate normal anatomical and fetal abnormalities.
- Tech will be able to provide correct fetal measurements and history.
- Tech is responsible for scheduling review, appropriately documenting for correct charge entry, and compassionate communication with patients.
- Tech will be responsible for exam set-up, physician assistance, patient care, and operation of all department equipment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of formal education and training in Ultrasound Technology program.
- Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications.
- Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire.
- Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of diagnostic equipment.
Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months.
Minimum two year's experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications.
- Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire.
- Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first ninety days of employment.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
- BLS certification must be secured through the AHA or Red Cross.
