    Overview

    Performs ultrasound studies in a clinical environment, including abdominal, vaginal, and OBGYN exams.

    • Have clear understanding of image formation and display.
    • Have a clear understanding of fetal growth and development, as well as the basics of pelvic anatomy.
    • Demonstrate skills and ability to locate normal anatomical and fetal abnormalities.
    • Tech will be able to provide correct fetal measurements and history.
    • Tech is responsible for scheduling review, appropriately documenting for correct charge entry, and compassionate communication with patients.
    • Tech will be responsible for exam set-up, physician assistance, patient care, and operation of all department equipment.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Graduate of formal education and training in Ultrasound Technology program.
    • Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications.
    • Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire.
    • Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of diagnostic equipment.

    Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months.

    Minimum two year's experience preferred.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration:

    • Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications.
    • Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire.
    • Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months.
    • Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first ninety days of employment.
    • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
    • BLS certification must be secured through the AHA or Red Cross.
