Compensation: $38.45/hr. - $42.73/hr.

Work Arrangement: Fully onsite

Employment Type: W2 (not open to C2C, 1099, or visa sponsorship)

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a UI/UX Developer 3 to design and develop intuitive, accessible mobile and web experiences. This role combines user-centered design with hands-on front-end programming, translating business and user needs into responsive interfaces, reusable components, and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test web and mobile interfaces based on business requirements and end-user needs.
  • Translate wireframes, mockups, and prototypes into functional interfaces within JavaScript and Java applications.
  • Create semantic HTML that meets WCAG accessibility guidelines and ADA and Section 508 requirements.
  • Develop and maintain reusable components, interactive patterns, code libraries, and page templates for a customer-facing design system.
  • Build responsive interfaces using front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, AngularJS, React, or jQuery.
  • Maintain design files, wireframes, mockups, and UI prototypes.
  • Conduct usability reviews and testing to validate designs and improve user experiences.
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, developers, and architects throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across design and development, supporting technical feasibility and project decisions.
  • Resolve interface defects, accessibility issues, and cross-browser compatibility problems.
  • Contribute to product UX strategy and prioritization using research and data.
  • Research emerging interface tools, frameworks, and programming techniques.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing front-end web applications.
  • Experience creating conceptual and detailed designs based on end-user needs.
  • Experience with human-centered design methods, including user research, interface design, and usability testing.
  • Knowledge of design and storyboarding tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and InVision.
  • Ability to communicate with business and technology users and translate requirements into practical solutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and maintainable HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • UI/UX design or web development certifications and training.
  • Experience in the electric or gas utility industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an applicable business field, or relevant business and technical experience.
  • Experience with Vue.js, AngularJS, React, or jQuery.
  • Familiarity with screen readers such as VoiceOver, JAWS, or NVDA.
  • Experience collaborating with full-stack application development teams.
