Tutors Reporting to Community School Director, tutors will inspire and empower students. In this

in-person role, you will deliver personalized, engaging instruction tailored to each student's unique learning style and academic needs. Your enthusiasm for education and commitment to student

success will help foster confidence and achievement.

This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in learners' lives while honing your teaching skills in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will ensure that students meet or exceed grade-level standards and expectations within a given subject area. Tutors must be able to motivate and maintain the students' interest while setting a positive example in all areas, including timeliness, attendance, and professionalism. Additionally, Tutors must take a sincere, active, and appropriate interest in the well-being of all students.

No after school. No holidays. No summer.

Essential Functions

Works with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying educational needs.

Provides tutoring to Middle School children (Monday-Friday 8AM-to 2PM) in the subjects of Math and ELA in preparation for the NY State exams during the school day.

Monitors student progress regularly, offering constructive feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.

Meets with the community School Director and ELT coordinator regularly.

Excellent communication skills to engage students of all ages and backgrounds.

Must be able to work a minimum of 6 hours per week.

The cost will be $107.50 - which will be reimbursed with proof of payment.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

Must be a current Fordham Junior, Senior or Graduate student.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Prior tutoring experience.
