Seeking to hire undergraduate student tutor that can assist with Engineering and Computer Science undergraduate coursework within the School of Engineering. The following peer tutoring services are provided by the UNM Engineering Student Success Center in-person in the Centennial Engineering Center (building #112).

Tutors are responsible for providing assistance for students with homework problems or other class assignments for courses such as: Math 1220, 1230, 1240, 1250, 1512, 1522, 2531, 311, 312, 313, 314, 316, 321; CE 202 or 302; ECE 131, 203, 206L, 213, 238L, 300, 314, 321L, 340, 344L, 360, 381; CS 151L and 261; Physics 1310, 1320, and 2310; Chemistry 1215, 1225, or 301; CBE 251, 253, 302, 311, 317, 371; ME 150,160L, 217, 260L, 301, 306, 317, 318L, 357, 380, 416/516, 459;

  • Working with individuals or in small group setting on a walk-in basis;
  • As necessary, explains or clarifies the principles involved, suggests possible approaches to solve each problem and guides the students in carrying out a solution;
  • Keeping abreast of assignments in the course and preparing students for quizzes and exams;
  • Encouraging students to help and work together, fostering teamwork, with the goal of creating their own study groups;
  • Coordinate with the department in order to track student customer data for administrative purposes.
