Turbine Analyst Engineer

The Turbine Analyst Engineer is responsible for analyzing turbine performance, evaluating operating data, identifying potential issues, and developing engineering solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment performance. Hands-on or analytical experience involving gas turbines, steam turbines, rotating equipment, power generation equipment, or related mechanical systems.

A fast-growing manufacturer of turbines and power generation equipment is seeking a Turbine Analyst Engineer to join the team. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects and play an important role in improving turbine performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. The Turbine Analyst Engineer is responsible for analyzing turbine performance, evaluating operating data, identifying potential issues, and developing engineering solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment performance.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze turbine operating and performance data to evaluate equipment efficiency, reliability, and overall condition.
• Monitor turbine performance and identify deviations from expected operating parameters.
• Perform engineering analysis to identify the root causes of performance issues, equipment degradation, or abnormal operating conditions.
• Develop recommendations to improve turbine efficiency, reliability, availability, and operating performance.
• Review and interpret turbine operating data, test results, engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Conduct performance calculations and engineering assessments related to turbines and associated rotating equipment.
• Evaluate equipment operating conditions and identify potential mechanical, thermal, or performance-related issues.
• Support troubleshooting efforts involving turbine systems and associated equipment.
• Perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive action recommendations.
• Work with engineering, operations, maintenance, and other technical teams to resolve equipment and performance issues.
• Develop technical reports, engineering calculations, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Assist with turbine performance testing, commissioning, inspections, and other engineering activities as needed.
• Participate in technical meetings and provide engineering recommendations to management and project teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Hands-on or analytical experience involving gas turbines, steam turbines, rotating equipment, power generation equipment, or related mechanical systems
• Strong understanding of turbine operation, performance characteristics, and associated systems
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical and operational data
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, equipment performance, and troubleshooting methodologies
• Experience performing engineering calculations and interpreting technical data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with root-cause analysis and identifying corrective actions
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work onsite in Katy, TX on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license or progress toward obtaining a PE
• Experience with turbine performance testing and analysis
• Experience with gas turbine or steam turbine systems
• Experience with rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, generators, or expanders
