Trust & Safety Enforcement Specialist - Child Safety

Location: Remote - Open to candidates across all U.S. time zones

Contract: 7-month W2 contract with potential to extend

Pay Rate: $110-$120/hour

Russell Tobin is supporting a leading AI technology company in hiring a Trust & Safety Enforcement Specialist - Child Safety to join its Safeguards Enforcement Operations team.

This team is expanding its enforcement capabilities to support the growing volume and complexity of AI safety review. The specialist will help evaluate potentially harmful use of advanced AI systems, apply established safety and enforcement policies, identify emerging risks, and provide operational insights that strengthen safeguards over time.

This role is particularly well suited for someone with experience in child safety, Trust & Safety, online platform enforcement, investigations, content moderation, platform integrity, abuse prevention, or high-risk policy enforcement.

Team members may be exposed to explicit content involving sexual content, violence, exploitation, abuse, or other psychologically challenging subject matter, including content related to child safety.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Review customer signals, user interactions, prompts, outputs, and code to identify potential safety or policy violations.
  • Evaluate cases involving high-risk or harmful content, including child safety-related issues.
  • Apply established Safeguards enforcement workflows and policy guidelines consistently and accurately.
  • Make sound enforcement decisions while navigating nuanced or ambiguous cases.
  • Identify emerging abuse patterns, safety risks, and potentially novel misuse of AI systems.
  • Escalate cases that may expose gaps in existing policies, enforcement procedures, or technical safeguards.
  • Flag content and behavioral patterns that may inform classifier and detection-system improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategy Analysts, Policy Managers, Threat Intelligence Investigators, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Produce clear and comprehensive reporting on enforcement workflows, trends, risks, and operational findings.
  • Handle customer communications and appeals related to policy enforcement.
  • Provide surge review support and data/content labeling as operational needs arise.
  • Triage cross-functional requests and provide timely, well-reasoned guidance and insights.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, discretion, and judgment when working with highly sensitive information.

What We're Looking For

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

  • Experience in child safety, Trust & Safety, content moderation, platform integrity, safeguards, investigations, policy enforcement, or a related field.
  • Experience reviewing or investigating complex, sensitive, or high-risk content.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to consistently interpret and apply detailed policies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a systematic approach to reviewing complex cases.
  • Ability to learn new policies, workflows, and risk areas quickly.
  • Strong independent working skills and comfort operating in a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly document decisions, identify trends, and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality output.
  • Genuine interest in AI safety, responsible AI deployment, and preventing misuse of advanced technology.
  • Comfort working collaboratively across policy, operations, investigations, and technical teams.

Preferred Background

Candidates may be especially well suited if they have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Child safety or online child protection
  • Child exploitation prevention or detection
  • Trust & Safety operations
  • Platform integrity or abuse prevention
  • Threat intelligence or investigations
  • Safety or security operations
  • High-severity content moderation
  • Digital platform policy enforcement
  • User behavior or abuse-pattern analysis
  • AI safety, responsible AI, or emerging technology risk
  • Reviewing technical content, including code, in an enforcement or investigative context
