Description

Our Client, a Banking and Financial Services company, is looking for a Trust Relationship Officer for their New York, NY/Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Client service & relationship support
  • Support the ongoing service of UHNW/HNW trust and estate relationships, responding to client requests and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide operational support to Trust Relationship Managers on more complex trust and estate portfolios.
  • Oversight of trust and company administration
  • Guide and support one or more Trust Relationship Managers to ensure accurate execution of trust/company activities in accordance with governing instruments and relevant jurisdictional requirements.
  • Maintain strong file hygiene and documentation standards across client structures.
  • Client and Group reporting
  • Monitor and ensure timely completion of client reporting at the required frequency, including (as applicable) valuations, annual financial statements, investment information, tax/technical reports, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Ensure any required internal/Group reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Risk management, due diligence & compliance
  • Ensure due diligence and compliance requirements are adhered to within the team, including KYC/AML and ongoing monitoring obligations.
  • Escalate issues, breaches, or emerging risks promptly and support remediation actions.
  • Management information & operational support
  • Provide reporting and support to management on technical and operational issues, including participation in projects and process improvements.
  • Commercial discipline & opportunity identification
  • Review client relationships and trust structures to identify potential new business opportunities.
  • Support appropriate pricing for new and existing trust cases, ensuring services are properly scoped and commercially sound.
  • Specialist support (as applicable)
  • May develop or support specialist offerings such as Philanthropy, Legacy Wealth Planning, or Probate Services (not exhaustive), aligned to client needs and business priorities.
 
Requirements:
  • Experience in trust/fiduciary administration and client servicing within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Working knowledge of trust and company structures, governing documentation, and jurisdictional requirements relevant to the role.
  • Strong understanding of due diligence, KYC/AML, and operational risk controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver accurate, high-quality reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in handling client queries and stakeholder coordination.
  • Commercial awareness (pricing support, identifying opportunities, understanding client needs).
  • Ability to coach/support administrators and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, preferably
  • Some trust experience
  • Key relationships
  • HNW clients and their professional advisers (attorneys, tax advisers, investment managers)
  • Trust Officers, Trust Administrators, fiduciary operations teams
  • Compliance, Risk, Finance, Legal and other internal partners
  • External service providers and relevant jurisdictional parties (as required)
  • Success measures
  • On-time, accurate delivery of client and internal reporting.
  • Strong compliance outcomes (timely due diligence, clean audit findings, effective issue escalation).
  • High-quality administration of trust/company structures with minimal errors and rework.
  • Positive client feedback and effective support of Trust Officers on complex cases.
  • Identified opportunities progressed appropriately and pricing discipline maintained.
