Trust & Estate Planning Attorney

About the Role A leading legal recruiting firm has partnered with an elite Cleveland, Ohio law firm to place an experienced Trusts & Estates Planning Attorney. Known for its premier wealth management practice, the firm seeks a skilled lawyer who excels in an in-office, team-oriented setting. In this role, you will advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners, delivering custom tax strategies, estate planning, and trust administration with top-tier client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document Drafting: Prepare and refine complex estate planning instruments, including revocable/irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.

  • Tax & Wealth Strategy: Counsel clients on asset protection, income tax planning, and federal and Ohio estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax minimization.

  • Business & Philanthropic Planning: Design business succession plans, family limited partnerships (FLPs), and charitable giving structures.

  • Trust & Probate Administration: Assist executors and trustees with asset distribution, Ohio probate proceedings, and statutory compliance.

  • Client Advisory: Lead comprehensive consultations to align legal strategies with long-term client goals.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with active, good-standing admission to the Ohio Bar (LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred).

  • 3–7+ years of concentrated experience in trusts and estates law.

  • Advanced legal drafting skills and thorough working knowledge of the Ohio Trust Code alongside federal and state estate tax regulations.

  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to clients clearly and compassionately.
