We are a growing Preeminent Trust and Estates law firm that is looking to hire a Paralegal to support 1-2 attorneys with Estate Administration in our Towson office. You would be supporting 1-2 attorneys with a billable requirement of 30 hours per week in a collegial environment at a Preeminent law firm focused solely on Trust & Estates work.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trust and Estates Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. You will be responsible for providing paralegal support to attorneys in the Trust and Estates practice area. This role involves managing and tracking multiple detailed tasks and deadlines directly related to client and attorney needs, drafting and editing legal documents and correspondence, maintaining client files, and conducting legal research. This position requires a high level of client interaction, including fielding calls and maintaining correspondence with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist attorneys in drafting, revising, and finalizing legal documents related to trusts and estates, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related documents.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and provide relevant information to attorneys.
3. Manage and organize client files efficiently, ensuring all relevant documents, data, and correspondence are correctly filed and easily accessible.
4. Coordinate with clients and attorneys to gather necessary information and documents for estate planning.
5. Prepare and maintain estate and trust accountings, fiduciary income tax returns, and federal estate tax returns.
6. Monitor deadlines and manage calendar for trust and estate matters to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
7. Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel, providing high-quality professional support.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information, adhering to ethical standards and guidelines.

Qualifications:

1. 3-5 year of experience as a Paralegal with Estate Administration
2. Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is a PLUS
3. Proven experience in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining organized client files.
4. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
6. Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
8. Familiarity with the probate process and court procedures.
9. Knowledge of federal and state laws related to trusts and estates.
