    Imagine This

    You’re the go‑to expert in the Detroit, MI area—fully remote and self‑directed—arriving on site to bring a crane back online. You assess hydraulics, trace an electrical fault, weld a minor repair, and complete documentation before heading to an urgent forklift call. You coordinate with a fleet manager, follow safety protocols, and leave both the job site and your service vehicle spotless.

    Your Mission

    • Own field service for articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers—exercising a high degree of independent judgment.
    • Deliver quarterly PMs, perform Annual DOT inspections, and complete warranty service.
    • Respond to emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting during and outside normal business hours.
    • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable updates for job‑site contacts and fleet managers.
    • Capture every detail: estimates, work order authorizations, ordering/recording parts, labor entry, and inventory documentation—on time, every time.
    • Adhere to all state and federal safety regulations.
    • Keep your company vehicle, tools, and workspace organized and clean.

    What It Takes

    • Depth across mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems, diagnostics, and welding.
    • Field‑ready stamina in all weather; able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75+ lbs for extended periods.
    • 3 years of mechanical experience or training with emphasis on articulating cranes and forklifts.
    • English fluency (speak, read, write).
    • CDL on day one or within 60 days of employment.
    • Bring your own tools; PALFINGER provides proprietary tooling.
