We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join a busy, well‑equipped shop working on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks and trailers, including dry vans, lift gates, and tankers. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in quality work, safety, and keeping equipment DOT‑ready.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Mechanical repairs and overhauls on commercial trucks and trailers
  • Engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
  • Preventive maintenance, oil changes, and lubrication
  • Annual DOT inspections
  • SCR/DPF systems and emissions troubleshooting
  • Laptop diagnostics using industry‑standard software
  • AC systems
  • Trailer and lift gate repairs (dry van)
  • Tanker components including pumps, valves, and related systems
  • Tire inspection and replacement
  • Assisting with parts ordering and inventory management

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic in a heavy truck/trailer environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with computerized diagnostics
  • MIG welding and cutting torch experience
  • Working knowledge of FMCSA / DOT regulations
  • Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and safety‑minded
  • Dependable, on‑time, and known for a strong work ethic
  • Self‑starter who doesn’t need hand‑holding
  • Ability to read and follow safety rules, manuals, and procedures
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Shop environment with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor conditions
  • Moderate noise level
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting
  • Lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently, and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
