We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join a busy, well‑equipped shop working on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks and trailers, including dry vans, lift gates, and tankers. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in quality work, safety, and keeping equipment DOT‑ready. What You’ll Be Working On- Mechanical repairs and overhauls on commercial trucks and trailers
- Engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Preventive maintenance, oil changes, and lubrication
- Annual DOT inspections
- SCR/DPF systems and emissions troubleshooting
- Laptop diagnostics using industry‑standard software
- AC systems
- Trailer and lift gate repairs (dry van)
- Tanker components including pumps, valves, and related systems
- Tire inspection and replacement
- Assisting with parts ordering and inventory management

What We’re Looking For- 3+ years of experience as a mechanic in a heavy truck/trailer environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with computerized diagnostics
- MIG welding and cutting torch experience
- Working knowledge of FMCSA / DOT regulations
- Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and safety‑minded
- Dependable, on‑time, and known for a strong work ethic
- Self‑starter who doesn’t need hand‑holding
- Ability to read and follow safety rules, manuals, and procedures
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements- Shop environment with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor conditions
- Moderate noise level
- Regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting
- Lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently, and 100 lbs occasionally
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
