A Day in The Life of a CDL Truck Driver

As a CDL Class A Driver with Wesco, you may support regional deliveries of electrical and industrial products throughout Michigan while operating assigned equipment, including 53' dry van trailers and, where qualified, flatbeds or Moffett-equipped trucks.

Wesco is not a for-hire carrier. Drivers generally support established customer locations and routes, which may provide more consistency than traditional over-the-road assignments. Must have a satisfactory driving record. Must have CDL Classification/Certification. Requires applicable truck driver license for state.

• Safely operate CDL Class A vehicles and comply with DOT regulations
• Deliver products to customer locations throughout the region
• Secure, inspect, and transport cargo safely
• Obtain proof of delivery and provide professional customer service
• Perform vehicle inspections and maintain transportation records
• Typical Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Education & Experience

• High school degree or equivalent required
• Must have a valid CDL License
• 2 years required of truck driving experience
• Forklift Experience

Skills & Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
• Vision - near, far, night
• Ability to detect or tell differences between sounds varying in pitch and loudness
• Ability to quickly respond (with hand, finger, foot) to signals (sound, light, picture) when it appears
