Traveling Quality Control Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee a large-scale environmental remediation project. This Superfund cleanup project involves addressing historical contamination from a lead smelter, focusing on residential soil excavation, restoration, environmental monitoring, and community redevelopment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Quality Control Manager on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
  • Manage quality control programs for environmental remediation, construction, earthwork, excavation, or civil projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Document and report project progress and any issues that arise.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Travel to project sites and work in field environments as required.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Control Manager on USACE projects.
  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification with active 8-Hour Refresher.
  • Certification in Construction Quality Management (CQM).
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver"s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience managing QC programs for environmental remediation, construction, earthwork, excavation, or civil projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience in federal construction and remediation projects.

Work Environment

This is a salaried role with straight time and per diem benefits. The position involves traveling on a full-time basis, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role. The project is a multi-year endeavor with annual construction and remediation seasons, experiencing a winter shutdown and resuming in spring. Field operations are expected to restart in Spring 2027, with the project anticipated to conclude around October/November 2026, depending on seasonal conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $68.00/hr.
