Traveling MEP Project Manager - Data Center

Lead Complex Mep Scopes On High-Profile Projects Nationwide

Manage Mep scopes from preconstruction and procurement through installation, commissioning, and turnover. Lead coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire protection, and critical building systems. Work closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, design teams, and trade partners. Drive Mep schedules, milestones, procurement activities, and long-lead equipment tracking. Coordinate Mep design development, constructability reviews, BIM/VDC coordination, and clash detection. Manage Mep subcontractors and ensure work aligns with project schedule, budget, quality, and contract requirements. Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, scopes of work, and technical project documentation. Identify potential Mep conflicts early and develop solutions before they impact field operations. Support equipment procurement, installation, startup, testing, and commissioning activities. Coordinate energization and turnover of critical systems. Maintain strong communication between field teams, design partners, clients, and subcontractors. Travel to assigned projects and provide consistent leadership throughout project execution.

The successful applicant should have: proven experience in Mep construction management with a commercial general contractor; strong understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems; project experience within data centers, mission critical, advanced manufacturing, or industrial construction; experience managing Mep subcontractors, procurement, coordination, installation, and commissioning; strong understanding of BIM/VDC coordination and Mep constructability; ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and Mep documentation; experience managing projects with complex equipment and critical infrastructure; strong scheduling, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; comfortable working within fast-paced project environments with demanding schedules; ability and willingness to travel extensively based on project location; professional, adaptable, and able to build strong relationships with clients and project teams.
