The technologist operates radiographic equipment effectively to produce quality images in various settings, including radiology departments and emergency departments. The technologist explains procedures to patients and demonstrates appropriate positioning to obtain optimum views of specified anatomy. The technologist adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors based on procedural knowledge and established guidelines. The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the radiologist when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems daily. The technologist may also perform various other duties as assigned.
