Wound Care Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate degree in nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• At least 2 years of infusion nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC
• Strong wound care nursing experience preferred
• Wound care certification preferred but not required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience strongly preferred
• Excellent patient assessment, clinical judgment, and direct patient care skills

Outpatient Infusion and Wound Care RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients receiving wound care, infusion therapy, and oncology treatments.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Provide wound assessments, dressing changes, treatment planning, and patient education.
• Safely administer prescribed infusion therapies while following established protocols and medication safety standards.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate clinical concerns promptly to providers and the care team.
• Document assessments, nursing interventions, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate care with providers and the interdisciplinary outpatient healthcare team.
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-focused clinical environment.
• Participate in low-census on-call coverage when assigned; no regular weekend or holiday rotation is listed.
