Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse to provide specialized wound and skin care services. The ideal candidate must have recent experience in the specialty and the required wound care certifications.
Assignment Details
- Position: Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Shift: Day shift
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Active RN License
- AHA BLS Certification
- Candidates in the WOC Nurse role must hold one of the following:
- CWON(R) – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse
- CWOCN(R) – Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse
- Must have a recognized wound care certification, such as:
- WCC – Wound Care Certified
- CWS – Certified Wound Specialist
- CWCN – Certified Wound Care Nurse
- Ostomy certification/experience is optional
Holiday Requirements
Candidates must work:
- 2 major holidays from:
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Day
AND
- 1 minor holiday from:
- Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- New Year's Eve
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients with complex wounds and skin conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized wound-care plans.
- Provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on wound prevention and management.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow facility policies and clinical standards.
