Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse to provide specialized wound and skin care services. The ideal candidate must have recent experience in the specialty and the required wound care certifications.

Assignment Details

  • Position: Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted within a 50-mile radius
  • Shift: Day shift

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Active RN License
  • AHA BLS Certification
  • Candidates in the WOC Nurse role must hold one of the following:
    • CWON(R) – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse
    • CWOCN(R) – Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse
  • Must have a recognized wound care certification, such as:
    • WCC – Wound Care Certified
    • CWS – Certified Wound Specialist
    • CWCN – Certified Wound Care Nurse
  • Ostomy certification/experience is optional

Holiday Requirements

Candidates must work:

  • 2 major holidays from:
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day
    • New Year's Day

AND

  • 1 minor holiday from:
    • Friday after Thanksgiving
    • Christmas Eve
    • New Year's Eve

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients with complex wounds and skin conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized wound-care plans.
  • Provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care.
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on wound prevention and management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow facility policies and clinical standards.
