Vascular Technologist

Job Summary:

The Vascular Technologist performs vascular ultrasound evaluations using Doppler and physiologic testing. This role includes writing preliminary reports and communicating acute findings to the care team. The technologist is also responsible for obtaining pertinent patient health history prior to examinations and preparing the procedure room and equipment for daily use. They ensure timely and efficient room preparation between procedures and troubleshoot any equipment problems, reporting them to the appropriate supervisor. Additionally, the position may involve staff training and education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform vascular ultrasound evaluations with Doppler and physiologic testing.
• Write preliminary reports and communicate acute findings to the care team.
• Obtain pertinent patient health history prior to examinations.
• Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use.
• Ensure timely and efficient room preparation between procedures.
• Troubleshoot and identify any equipment problems, reporting issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• May perform staff training and education.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in vascular technology.

Education:

• Accredited Associate’s Degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field; or completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• One of the following certifications is required:
  • RDCS certified through ARDMS
  • RVT certified through ARDMS
  • RCS, ACS, or RCCS certified through CCI.

Shift Details:

Shift hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
