Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technician (Vascular Sonographer) position in Bakersfield, California, involves performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations with a focus on vascular and obstetric imaging. The role requires ensuring patient safety, preparing patients, and operating complex ultrasound equipment to obtain accurate images for diagnosis. The position also includes maintaining equipment, assisting with minimally invasive procedures, and collaborating with physicians for final diagnosis.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week; primarily day shifts with on-call and potential graveyard shifts.
- Required Qualifications: Certification from an accredited ultrasonic training program, two (2) years or equivalent paid ultrasound experience, ARDMS certification, and BLS certification. Must have vascular and obstetric ultrasound experience, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to correlate clinical history with ultrasound findings.
- Preferred Qualifications: Strong vascular and obstetric experience, proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation, and clinical history correlation skills.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment pertinent to vascular and obstetric studies, correlating clinical history, assisting with surgical biopsies and aspirations, and participating in imaging review sessions. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean and organized work environment, providing first-aid and CPR as needed, and insuring accurate charges are entered into the billing system.
