Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with 2+ years of experience in general, vascular, and abdominal sonography for an evening shift assignment.

Details

  • Ultrasound department in a Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Maternity units
  • Patient types include general, abdominal, vascular, and small parts sonography, along with venous/arterial dopplers and biopsies
  • Limited OB/GYN scans performed only for viability checks on ER patients
  • Cardiac imaging is not required and is handled by echo techs
  • Average patient ratio of 1:1, approximately 1 patient per hour
  • 8-hour evening shift, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Works as part of a team on weekdays and solo with on-call support on weekends
  • Weekend call rotation includes one full 24/7 weekend per month with a 30-minute response time
  • No weekday call requirement
  • Uses GE Logiq 10, Siemens, and Parks flo-lab equipment
  • Documents in EPIC EMR

Requirements

  • Active ARDMS certification in vascular and abdominal sonography required
  • BLS certification required
  • Active license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of sonography experience required, including the patient types listed above
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Minimum 12 months of core experience in the specialty area, with recent experience within the last year
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Candidate's date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform general, abdominal, vascular, and small parts ultrasound exams along with dopplers and biopsies
  • Support provided by a lead ultrasound tech and supervisor
  • Orientation consists of 1-3 shifts based on experience and comfort level
  • May be required to take call on holidays if there is no coverage from core staff
  • No floating required
  • Scrubs of any color permitted
  • Free parking available on-site
  • Covid vaccine required
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
  • Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
  • Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
