Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and proficiency with Canon and GE ultrasound equipment.

Details

  • Acute care Magnet facility with 152 staffed beds
  • Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Daily caseload ratios of 1:4 on days, 1:1 on nights, and 1:1 on weekends
  • Performs general ultrasound, breast imaging, small parts, and ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration procedures
  • Works with Adult, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatric patient populations, including portable ultrasound studies
  • Uses Canon, GE, and Toshiba ultrasound equipment along with PACS system
  • Charting completed in Cerner, with Epic experience preferred
  • Weekend shifts required
  • On-call requirement of minimum 4 days per month
  • May float within scope to meet facility needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • ARDMS certification and BLS required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred, Epic experience a plus
  • Experience with breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures
  • Travel healthcare experience required
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Provides care to a complex patient population with significant social history factors including domestic violence
  • Requires cultural sensitivity when working with the Alaska Native population
  • Performs a high volume of breast imaging and biopsy procedures
  • Navy scrub color required; scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff
  • Modules completed onsite during orientation and annually via HealthStream, averaging 4-5 billable hours
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
  • COVID vaccination required prior to starting assignment
  • Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
