Key Responsibilities of the AMG Maternal Fetal Medicine - OB/GYN Sonographer- Perform basic to advanced obstetric diagnostic ultrasound imaging and procedures.
- Select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound exams.
- Review medical records to obtain clinical information and communicate with patients for history data.
- Calibrate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment and notify biomedical department for equipment failures.
- Participate in department quality assurance studies and prepare records of ultrasound examinations.
- Assist in the clinical instruction of sonography students, OB/GYN residents, and medical students.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties using proper technique.
- Demonstrate age-specific care knowledge and skills according to department policies.
Requirements of the AMG Maternal Fetal Medicine - OB/GYN Sonographer- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis
- Proficiency in performing scans to identify cross-sectional anatomy
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and electronic medical records
