Description

Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Profession: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Specialty: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening shift - Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience not specified License: Required Certifications: Required Must-Have: - Diploma/certificate from an ultrasound college/school - Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT) - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor Description: Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. Produces images of internal body tissues to diagnose and monitor various conditions. Supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel. Maintains ultrasound equipment. Uses ultrasound equipment to direct high-frequency sound waves to prescribed areas of the patient's body and capture quality images. Summarizes, documents, verifies, and presents images, findings, calculations, and measurements to physicians for diagnoses. Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions, and standards. Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and cooperation ability. Positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and continually monitors and records vital signs. Observes for reactions and signs of impending complications, intervening as needed. Maintains accurate records and files. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to confidentiality guidelines and regulations. Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures. Verifies the operational status of equipment prior to daily utilization. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
