The department has three scanners for use. The sonographer may need to float to other areas as required. Coverage may be needed for the 4th ED when ultrasounds are ordered after 6 PM, Monday-Friday. The average number of scans performed daily ranges from 8 to 12. The department uses Epic for EMR and Fuji Synaps for PACS. Department-specific equipment includes Philips machines. The supervision is provided by a Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech. No Registered Radiology Assistants are used in this department. There is no need for in-house radiologists. IV starts are not a requirement for the position. There is a weekend commitment and holiday requirements associated with the position.
