Additional Notes and Requirements: We are requesting approval for a standard traveler Ultrasound Technologist to provide consistent staffing coverage while a full-time employee is on an approved leave of absence (LOA). The current Rapid traveler is serving as backfill for this employee. In addition, one of our PRN ultrasound technologists has been working on modified duty, creating an additional gap in department coverage.
A standard traveler assignment is needed until the employee on LOA returns. This will provide greater continuity than repeatedly utilizing rapid travelers, which require renewals every four weeks and often result in gaps between assignments.
Maintaining consistent traveler coverage will:
Ensure uninterrupted ultrasound services and support timely patient care.
Improve patient throughput by maintaining adequate staffing levels.
Reduce scheduling disruptions and overtime costs associated with intermittent staffing shortages.
Improve staff satisfaction by reducing the need for existing team members to work additional hours while waiting for replacement rapid travelers to arrive.
Approving a standard traveler assignment will provide stable, reliable coverage throughout the employee's leave, support operational efficiency, and maintain high-quality patient care.
