Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer for a General Ultrasound role in an acute care teaching hospital, requiring ARDMS certification and 1+ year of experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within a Level I Trauma, teaching facility
  • General Ultrasound unit performing OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, and small parts imaging
  • Adult, pediatric, NICU, and PICU patient populations
  • Procedures include 1st/2nd/3rd trimester OB scans, fetal anatomical surveys, abdominal aorta, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, and pediatric abdomen/pelvis studies
  • Vascular skills include carotid duplex, arterial/venous studies, renal artery duplex, and transcranial Doppler
  • Additional exams include bladder, renal/pelvis, uterus, vaginal, breast, thyroid, and testicular ultrasound
  • Performs guided biopsies, fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Uses GE ultrasound equipment
  • Charts in Epic (preferred experience)
  • 4x9 hour day shifts, Thursday-Sunday, 36 hours/week, including every weekend
  • Works all holidays falling on scheduled days
  • On call 2 shifts per month
  • Expected to float within site and across the system as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer
  • ARDMS AB certification required (ARDMS OB/GYN, RDCS PE, and RDCS-RVT preferred)
  • BLS certification required
  • Oregon State license required if applicable
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Experience with general, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts ultrasound preferred
  • Experience with pediatric, NICU, and PICU populations preferred
  • Experience with GE ultrasound equipment preferred
  • Experience performing guided biopsies and fine needle aspirations preferred

Additional Information

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging across general, OB/GYN, vascular, renal, and small parts specialties
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Scrub color may be any color except all black, dark green, or camo
  • Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per assignment with no RTO during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates are not accepted and must not reside within 50 miles of any facility within the system
  • Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
