Registered Nurse - Trauma Stepdown Unit

Night shift – 4x12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM), weekdays, and every other weekend required.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Trauma Stepdown Unit. This role involves providing nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients in a fast-paced Intermediate Care (IMC) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in trauma and step-down care, ensuring quality patient outcomes in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and conditions.
- Administer medications and perform IV starts, telemetries, and conscious sedation.
- Participate in patient care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Float as necessary to cover floor beds as needed during shifts.
- Maintain accurate patient records and charting using Cerner.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year of experience in the specialty is preferred.
- Current WV or Compact RN License required.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS; CPI and TNCC are preferred.
- Strong skills in IV administration, telemetry monitoring, and managing critical care medications.
- Experience with Level 1 trauma care is highly recommended.
