Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma ICU position requiring Epic charting experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Level I Trauma ICU setting with 14 rooms and 16 beds
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
  • Float required to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed
  • Utilizes Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; PALS and TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients, with ventilator management preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs
  • Neurological skills including ICP monitoring preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to trauma ICU patients in a Level I Trauma facility
  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none allowed during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
  • First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
