Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a progressive care/stepdown setting with a focus on cardiac diagnoses including CHF, dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, angioplasty, and heart transplant patients
  • Administer and monitor vasoactive drips and cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin drips
  • Perform and manage peritoneal dialysis as required by patient care needs
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms accurately; candidates will be required to pass a proctored, written rhythm identification test upon start
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to manage complex cardiovascular and stepdown patient populations

Required Qualifications

  • Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 18 months of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown specialty experience within the past 3 years
  • Demonstrated experience with peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip management
  • Proficiency with vasoactive medications and cardiac monitoring
  • Ability to pass a proctored rhythm identification test (non-multiple choice, two attempts allowed)
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience caring for patients with LVADs, congenital heart conditions, or post-heart transplant status
  • Familiarity with complex cardiac pharmacology including Bumex, Lasix, and Milrinone infusions
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac stepdown or PCU environment
