Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Neuro Surgical Specialty unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 34-bed Neuro Surgical Specialty unit
  • Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical cases (not stroke)
  • Patient ratio of 4-5:1
  • Equipment used includes lumbar/JP drains and wound vacs
  • Skills needed include traction, PCA, trach care, EKG, and feeding tubes
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a with every other weekend required
  • 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or compact) required
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient telemetry experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans
  • Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
  • Delivers patient and family centered care with a focus on education and satisfaction
  • Optional neuro certification class available through the Neuro Institute
  • No local rate drop for candidates residing nearby
