Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a float position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and active MA RN licensure.

Details

  • Tele Float position covering all telemetry units within the hospital
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday (EOW/EOH) scheduling
  • Floating required to all telemetry units
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, tracheostomy, and non-invasive airway management
  • Experience in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and medication management including cardiac drips (no titration) and PCA
  • Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Float RN will be expected to work across all telemetry units within the facility
  • Must pass a telemetry exam and a medication exam during orientation, each with one attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • RNs in Mother Baby/Postpartum, Ambulatory, OR, SACU, and Psych units are exempt from the telemetry testing requirement
  • Multiple study materials are provided during compliance and FDI process to prepare for exams
  • Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional annual modules tracked in Workday
  • One major holiday may be included in RTO requests out of three upcoming holidays
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have prior floating experience
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
